The Fenton Mansion, once the home of Gov. Reuben E. Fenton and his family, has long been associated with Soldiers and Veterans. The Fenton Research Center, located on the connected property, houses the genealogical and local history library once found within the Fenton Mansion/Museum. Vets Finding Vets was launched on Nov. 11, 2014, to enable Chautauqua County Veterans to make use of the Research Center at no charge. Veteran talks and events take place regularly, and Chautauqua County Veteran military bios are added to History Center collection as a means to preserve the Chautauqua County military experience for future generations.

Veterans Services is the county’s link for 10,000+ veterans and their dependents for benefits provided by the Veterans Administration, Department of Veteran Affairs in Washington, D.C.

Dwyer Chautauqua is named for an N.Y. soldier who returned home from his tour as a combat medic in Iraq with PTSD and a brain injury. He self-medicated with a chemical solvent which ultimately resulted in the loss of his life. Dwyer Chautauqua is a non-clinical program that links veterans together in social settings and gives them the opportunity to feel that sense of camaraderie again.

Blue Star Mothers Lake Erie Chapter 4 supports our currently serving military and their families, our veterans, and our Gold Star families.  We send care packages to our deployed troops throughout the year with the assistance of our generous and patriotic community.  We also hold an annual Gold Star Memorial to remember and honor the Modern Warfare Gold Star Heroes from Chautauqua County that this website focuses on, along with the families they have left behind.

VirTech LLC

VirTech LLC is a local consulting business that is Veteran owned.  The owner was active duty during the target timeframe the website site is set to honor.  Virtech LLC proud to be involved serving our Chautauqua County heroes and their families with this memorial.

Having worked together on events, and supported each other’s endeavors in regards to Veteran needs prior to this project, it was natural for us to easily work with each other to bring forth this necessary website. Necessary, because it starts with the names of the Fallen and gives them life and personality, so that now and in the future, those of us who never knew them personally can have some idea of the tremendous loss to their families, friends, and Chautauqua County. Once only a Memorial site, we are proud to say that it has become a celebration of the lives and accomplishments of these young Veterans
